Firstly, I would like to thank you nonny for going what is currently seven pages back in my blog to read that post. It means a lot that you would do that just to send me some hate, it’s lovely.
Secondly, I know for a fact that I am not the only roleplayer here who does not want their threads reblogged by others who are not involved. I am not going to seek them out, because I would rather them not get hate at all either.
Thirdly, I would have sent that message privately, but at the time it appeared as if the person did not have their ask open at all. I did not follow them either so fanmail was also not an option. I did not mean to be angry, I was just annoyed and wanted to get my point across not just to them but to everyone. If I had of had the choice then I would not have made it public, it was just the only option at the time.
And considering the fact this particular person now has their ask open, if they had wanted to deal with it maturely then they would have been more than welcome to send me a message themselves. I understand a person who is not a roleplayer would not know such a common rule to do with not reblogging other people’s threads. It is now in my guidelines though, so I do not want to see it happening again.
As I said, I have had this problem before, but as the person had their ask open it was able to be dealt with quickly and quietly with no harm done at all. The post was only a last resort option. Good day, nonny.
Anyone can reblog anything of yours, that’s one problem that bugs me about tumblr. Role-plays are between your muse and another person’s muse (sometimes more) and there are rules the community has. People can enjoy the rps all they want and like them, talk about them, track them, but it is etiquette not to reblog those threads if you are not in the role-play itself, greyface. Anyone with half a damn brain should know better.
Molly mun, do ignore them. <3
What annoys me, is that it is not just me that has this rule. It is common knowledge in the roleplay world on tumblr. I have never mentioned it before and it only came up because people were reblogging my threads when they weren’t involved. Before that I had no need to mention it and only began to add it to my guidelines when it happened multiple times in a matter of days. I don’t want to have to do this, but it just so happens that I have to. Oh well.
Oh yes, It’s honestly everyone’s rule. If someone does this to me, I usually go to them. It’s not okay. You shouldn’t worry about it, it’s on everyone’s rules practically. People should know better. It isn’t like two people having a chat over a coffee that you can just jump into, it’s a growing story. I tell my family that rps are novels written by two people, really. You wouldn’t just go in and take Moby Dick and all in a new character after all. I hope you don’t have anyone that actually starts writing too, that happens..If they want people to see the rp then they should send the link, not reblog..
I have gone to someone before about it. I asked they take it down, they said they weren’t a roleplayer, apologised and took it down. End of story. That is how simple it should be if it happens. If someone is not a roleplayer and doesn’t know, it’s fine as long as they do the right thing and take it down. That’s fine by me. I’ve not had anyone try to jump in, but if they did I would ignore them and only reply to the person actually in the thread. Here’s hoping it doesn’t happen though.
