“You’re ready to go?… Where are we going? You’ve never told me.”

Moving around the lab, Molly was humming quietly under her breath as she did so. Often she had some quiet music on in the morgue as she worked to bring a little life into the cold room, but she’d needed the power outlet for the radio she used for something else that day so she had to make do on her own. Normally she did sing along to the music, yet she was not often caught because of the other music playing.
Today would be different though as there was no other sound to mask her voice quietly singing. She was not vastly talented by any stretch of the imagination in her mind, but she could hold a note or two when it was needed.
“Come with me and you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination…”
The song was one from Molly’s childhood, a song her father had sung to her on nights she could not sleep. He may be long gone now, but that certainly did not mean that she had forgotten the lyrics at all.
As she continued to sing, she did not hear nor see the person come into the morgue, continuing on with her soft singing as if she were still alone.
“Take a look and you’ll see
Into your imagination”
“Do you really have to be so loud?”

“How have you been? It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?”
Resting quietly in bed as she attempted to fall asleep, Molly’s eyes opened when she thought she heard a sound coming from outside of her room. No. It couldn’t be anyone. It was just the wind. That was what she thought to reassure herself in her half asleep stupor, wishing nothing more for the noise to stop and to be able to sleep.
“I’m fine. Really… I’m just getting my work done.”
“Oh… You didn’t have to get me anything. Really.”

“You wanted me to do what?”

“Are you alright? Can you hear me?… Do something if you can hear what I’m saying.”

“I’m sorry, what was that?… You wanted what?”
